Iconic climbs
Mallorca is a cycling island. From February to November our photographers are posted on the roads that define road cycling in Europe. Every image in the catalogue comes from one of these routes.
9.4 km of serpentine tarmac dropping from Coll dels Reis to the sea. Twenty-six hairpins, an average gradient of 7% and the unmistakable "knot" turn halfway down make Sa Calobra the most photographed climb in Mallorca. Riders start each spring at Pollença and ride back up from sea level — our photographers cover both the descent and the punishing return.
13 km along the northernmost tip of Mallorca, ending at a lighthouse over the Mediterranean. A rolling profile with tight limestone corners and sweeping coastal vistas — the last kilometre to the lighthouse is one of the most scenic ride-to spots in Europe, and our photographers are there for golden hour every week.
Mallorca's highest road climb — 14 km at an average 6% from Sóller to the tunnel at 836 m. Shot on the Serra de Tramuntana side, it's the benchmark effort of every Mallorca training camp. We cover the long ramps from Sóller, the dam approach from the north and the summit switchbacks.
The wider Tramuntana network — Coll de Femenia, Coll dels Reis, Coll de Sóller, Orient and Lluc. Classic Mallorca 312 and Tour de Mallorca terrain: high traffic of amateur peloton groups, pro teams in winter training, and sportive weekends from March through October.
Cycling calendar
The island is rideable year-round but the photography season peaks between late January and early November. Team training camps fill Pollença and Port d'Alcúdia from February. The Mallorca 312 sportive runs at the end of April — our busiest weekend, with thousands of cyclists across Sa Calobra, Formentor and Puig Major. Summer brings sunrise rides to beat the heat; autumn delivers the clearest light and the quietest roads for photography.
Photographers shoot every weekend from February through November, with daily coverage during the Mallorca 312, the Tour de Mallorca and major training-camp weeks.
